Save Yourself With 10 Minutes A Day

“Saving Yourself,” what does that even mean, some may say.  It means, that you take 10 minutes out of a 1,440 minutes in a day, (I googled it, trust me :P) for YOU. We may all choose to use those 10 minutes in different ways but it should consist of something that will help better you, make you feel alive, disconnect you from this crazy world we live in.  My biggest problem is LIFE…yes, life. Being a mom, paying all of my bills on my own, juggling multiple jobs to ensure Ryder and myself can do things we love. There are days/nights where I want to do nothing, just sit around and do absolutely nothing, but that isn’t possible. We live in world where women and men are working 40+ hours a week, raising families, cooking, cleaning, attempting to maybe have a date night…The list is never ending. To top it all off there’s social media, which is great for platform to stay in touch with one another, BUT it can consume time that should be spent elsewhere. With that being said, have you lost yourself? When you look in the mirror, do you know who you’re looking at? Or, are you looking at an overworked human being, who is living the same life day in and day out?

I can’t answer this question for you, but for me, I was lost for a very long time. (Still am) I’m almost 25 and I’m not sure where life is taking me, but finding myself is the key to it all. How can you change your life and make yourself happy, if you don’t know the person in the mirror?

Below you will find some of my favorite reads at the moment, along with my favorite morning drinks.

I start off with reading my daily devotional to set the tone for the day. I know there are other great devotionals out there, but I LOVE this one. Then I choose between the three other options, which I will talk about below.

Trusting God Day by Day: 365 Daily Devotions

Other Options:

The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts

This book is not only for married couples, or even people in relationships, it’s great for everyone. We all love differently, whether it’s towards our friends, family, spouse, etc. Having read this book multiple times, I always gain something different from it. It’s a great way to restore relationships and see what you may need to work on.

The Power of Now

One of my good friends had actually purchased this book for me and I am so thankful he did. There is some complexity with this read, but none the less, it forces you to be in the present. It is amazing how we can trick ourselves into many things by not being in the moment.

Self Magazine

SO, I’m kind of a magazine hoarder, and these two issues are probably 2 years old but I love reading articles and learning new things.

Aside from what I read, I also love drinking a great veggie juice ( I don’t eat enough vegetables) or I drink a cup of tea; these in particular are from whole foods. The reason I have chosen these to drink is because they are refreshing and rejuvenating. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE coffee, but it also can upset my stomach and make me feel bloated. After drink a cup of juice or tea, I feel alive and ready for the day!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and remember, this is for YOU. I want you to take 10 or more minutes a day to find what makes you happy.

Stay Strong & True to Yourself <3

xoxo Angelina
