What Will You Be Remembered For?

I’m sure this isn’t the first time you’ve heard this saying but think about it for just a few minutes...How many times a day do you think about doing something for someone else? I can say from personal experience in the past probably close to never. Starting as young kids we’re programmed to think about materialistic things whether it’s purposefully or not. It starts off with little things such as toys or games, which gradually progresses to clothes, cars, homes…when does it stop?

January 1, 2015 I made a New Years resolution to stop stressing about others lives and be genuinely happy for them, even if I didn’t agree with their decisions. As humans we want what’s best for those we love but in the same sense, we can’t control one another. Over time I became SO much happier. I was able to enjoy my own life and be happy for my friends no matter what path they were taking. As this happiness grew within myself I started to feel happier when looking at strangers and would begin giving a small smile to those I would walk past. Smiles gradually turned into actions and action turned into pure happiness and joy. There have been times where I would spend ridiculous amounts of money on materialistic things and the temporary happiness wasn’t like how I felt doing for others. I’m not going to sit here and say I’m a perfect little human because I’m not. I’m just choosing to see life for what it’s meant to be seen for and I pray that others do the same. The feeling you get when helping others or putting a smile on someone else’s face is like no other.

Just take a second and think about what you would be remembered for…Would it be working too much, partying too much, drinking too much, the shoes you wore or would it be making others smile, giving positive healthy advice to those in need, or just being there to listen.

Stay Strong & True to Yourself <3

xoxo Angelina
