New Years Eve Adventures 2015

January 14, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

Every year for New Years Eve we typically pop fireworks at home and never do anything “fun” so to speak. This year I wanted to do something different, and get away for a day or so. People always prepare their New Years Resolutions, before the New Year arrives and I did the same thing. Mine this year was to travel more, create authentic memories, and put my phone down. What I mean by authentic is, not what life looks like through the eyes of social media (Snapchat) in particular. Snapchat is an “at the moment” type of thing and are you really enjoying the moment if you’re worried about telling the world about it? I chose to set my phone down for the day and only use it for selfie photos of Ryder and I (the struggle of not wanting to walk around with a tripod haha.) I can honestly say it was the best decision I had made and Ryder was so happy the entire time.

Our little adventure began with us driving to the Houston Zoo and enjoying too much cotton candy, plus the animals of course. The second we arrived to the zoo Ryder was on cloud 9 and the joy in his face was priceless. If you’re ever in the Houston area and need a fun thing to do with the kids, I highly recommend the zoo! Ryder hadn’t been there since he was a baby, so it was all-new to him and he loved it. After our chilly zoo excursion we stopped by The Lee and Joe Jamail Skate park, which is right in the heart of Houston. Every city we go to, we always end up at at least one or two skate parks haha. We topped off our night with a hotel stay in the Woodlands and enjoyed the ever so fabulous Cheesecake Factory. You will see a few photos below of Ryder in our hotel shower…needless to say he thought he was a movie star.

Our little adventure may not have been a typical New Years Eve celebration but I honestly wouldn’t have changed a thing. You always hear people say to bring in the New Year with the ones you love and that’s what I did. Hopefully 2016 treats us all well and we accomplish big things <3

Stay Strong & True to Yourself <3

xoxo Angelina
